February 5th Newsletter

THANK YOU!

We truly have wonderful parish support. I got a message from a parishioner wanting to donate all of the costs of packaging for the upcoming Soup and Sandwich drive-thru fundraiser on February 21st. They, too, wish to remain anonymous. We are still looking for families to donate money to purchase cookie pucks that will be baked. You can send money to the school office marked as a cookie donation. If we can get all the cookies paid for, the event would be 100% profit with all the funds going to provide scholarships.

LATE START

We had the first late start of the school year. Please be sure to listen to KLFD (Litchfield) 1410 AM and KSTP TV for any weather related announcements. I do send out a Remind as soon as I am notified.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

We have two birthdays next week. They are a 1/2 birthday for Elsie Loch (8-9) and Mr. Johnson (2-10). God bless each of them.

RAFFLE UPDATE

The Catholic United Financial raffle is in full swing. The money raised from every single ticket is returned to school. Our goal is $10,000. We held our second of five drawings for student prizes this morning. Our winners this week were Kindergartener Henning Huhn, 2nd grader Elsie Loch, and 5th grader Xyla Jaquith. CONGRATULATIONS! For every book sold the student's name goes into a drawing. Please contact either the school or church office to get additional tickets.

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE

We will be hosting a virtual open house on Thursday, February 11th from 4-5 p.m. Brenda Torborg and I will be talking about and answering questions about our school. This is part of our Discovery Day series of events. If you know of anyone that may be considering the School of St. Philip for their children, please encourage them to tune in. We will be found on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/stphilipsschoollitchfield/ You can submit your questions while we are live and we will do our very best to answer them.

DISCOVERY DAY

Because of COVID, Discovery Day is looking very different this year. Letters have been sent to all AFC 3 and 4 year-olds. We have also given materials to area preschools to send home with 4 year old children. If you know of a 4 year-old that did not get materials, encourage them to call the office.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Monday, February 15th is Presidents' Day. There is no school for students or staff that day.
