Family Newsletter ~ May 7, 2020

Updated: Jul 17, 2020

Happy Mother's Day to all of our SoSP moms! Know that your tireless efforts on behalf of your children and our school do not go unnoticed. Thank you!

Adopt-a-Highway

Many thanks to the Elwell, Revermann, and Kramer families for helping with the Adopt-a-Highway service project! Interestingly, of the 13 helpers, 7 were alumni!

Virtual Open House Tonight!: Thursday, May 7, 2020

Please help us spread the word that tonight our Open House will be held virtually. Families who want to join us should contact me for a link. We will use our video tour (now available on the school website) and have time for Q & A.

Friday Pick-up/Drop-off

I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow for our pick-up and drop-off day! Remember to bring: library books, homework, tuition contracts, and appreciation cards.

Committee Meetings Next Week!

We have marketing (4:30) and school committee (7:00) meetings scheduled for next Tuesday, 5/12. Please feel free to share your thoughts with a committee member for discussion during these meetings.

School Strategic Plan

Each year around this time we make updates to our SSP and report our progress to MNSAA, the accrediting agency. You’ll find the revised plan on our website and by using this link. Please feel free to share your feedback with me via email.

2020-2021 Enrollment

Please be sure to submit your tuition contracts for next year during Friday pick-up/drop-off. If you are interested in completing an application for tuition assistance, please also take care of that at this time. That green form was included with the tuition contract. The materials fee is only $60 if paid by the end of the month!

Year End Planning

We continue to receive weekly updates from the governor to assist in making plans, but the final days still remain a mystery at this time. We are hopeful that Masses will resume after the 18th, but that is still to be determined. At this time, graduation celebrations are still TBD, but our last day of school is set for Friday, 5/22. We plan to have special Zoom gatherings for closure activities on Thursday, 5/21 and then we will use 5/22 for our Picnic/Field Day with activities at home. We are hoping to make our last pick-up/drop-off on 5/22 be a little special, so if possible, please plan to join us at 2:30 and bring your children. We’ll ask you to remain in your vehicles in the parking lot and await delivery of any materials we have in the school. We’d like to close the year with our usual prayer and blessing before the staff waves you off.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week has been a time to appreciate all of our staff in a special way. Since Distance Learning began, our teachers have continued to gather daily to pray for you, your needs, and the needs of the community. And if they hadn’t already been hard at work, they would then dive into the day of work, meetings, grading, and planning. The 7:30 – 3:30 contracted day is usually a laugh, but especially during Distance Learning. These last two months have probably been the most demanding of their careers, and, I think we can all agree, that they have done an absolutely outstanding job. We are beyond blessed to have a staff so committed to seeing your children succeed. Please take a minute to remind them of what a blessing they are!

In Him,

Dr. Michelle Kramer
