December 18th Newsletter

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Next week we celebrate the birth of our Savior. What a blessed time of year! I hope you are able to enjoy the blessings that God has given you and your family. We have been so very blessed at school. We had a successful marathon, we are still learning in-person, only 2 students and no staff cases of COVID, generous gifts for supplies and equipment, and a talented and dedicated group of adults that serve our children in so many ways. God has been so very good to us.

SCRIP

Did you know that each year our school earns close to $2000 dollars from Scrip. It is a wonderful program and it’s simple! You purchase a card for the retailer and/or restaurants that you visit. You can also give the card as a gift. The cards have a face value of $10, $15, $25 or $100 depending upon the retailer. You pay the face value amount and a percentage of the money is returned to the school. This is a way of bringing a little extra cash to our school with very little effort on the part of our parents and families. It is also a way for parents to fulfill their fundraising obligation by purchasing cards or having friends and family designate the donation to your family.

The cards look just like gift cards you would purchase at the stores/restaurants. You may give the cards as gifts or use them for your own shopping. Cards are available from the school or church office. I used my Scrip Kwik Trip card this morning to fill up my car - very easy.

COVID TESTING SITE

The State of Minnesota has opened several new testing sites across the state. One of them is in Hutchinson at the Armory. There is no cost to you for the test. You can sign up on line and it takes less than 10 minutes once you get there. The people at the site tell you that results may take 2-3 days but everyone I have talked to have gotten their results much quicker than that. My results only took 30 hours.

DECEMBER BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating birthdays are Emma Springer (12-21), Nehemiah Flemming (12-26) and Aurora Galarza (12-29). We also celebrate 1/2 birthdays for June. They are Hadley Huhn (6-14) and Mrs. Peterson (6-16). May God bless each of them.

DISTANCE LEARNING

Yesterday you received a copy of our Distance Learning Plan. We will be distance learning January 4-15, 2021 . December 29th, January 8th and January 15th are the pickup and drop off dates. Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you have any questions. If you do not have a device in your home, please contact me.

BIRTHDAY BAGS

Thank you so much for creating and donating birthday bags. The 1st and 2nd grade classes delivered 33 bags to the food shelf. What a wonderful way to celebrate Jesus's birthday by helping a child in need celebrate theirs!

This is the last newsletter until we come back from Christmas break. Merry Christmas to you all and may 2021 be filled with God's blessings.
